PT. Fastfood Indonesia, Tbk (KFC)., the only franchise holder of KFC brand nationwide was founded in 1978 by the Gelael Group, who initiated the acquisition of KFC franchise for Indonesia. The Company started operating its very first restaurant outlet in October 1979 at Jalan Melawai, Jakarta, and the success of this outlet paved the way for the opening of more additional oulets in Jakarta and expansion of its regional coverage to include other major cities in Indonesia, like Bandung, Semarang, Surabaya, Medan, Makassar and Manado. With continuous success in building the brand, KFC became a by-word and a dominant brand in fast food franchise business in Indonesia.
